Basics of Lean methodology with production simulation

or "How to Build Just-in-Time Manufacturing", applying lean principles?“

Why Lee's principle and Pproduction "just in time“?

  • The fulfillment of your orders is often delayed?
  • You are overwhelmed with different types of blanks and materials, and others often fall short?
    Before_Project_JIT_1
  • You have a large volume of work in progress on the lines?
  • Poor communication between planning, logistics and production units?
  • Reduced labor productivity?
  • Poor condition of material flows?
  • You don't believe in the practical application of Lean principles and tools?
  • Or you just want to see the practical application of the Japanese method "Just in time" in a Bulgarian industrial environment?

What is Lean Thinking and what is Manufacturing "just in time“?

Lean is a business philosophy, aiming to give new meaning to the organization of companies in order to achieve maximum value for the customer while eliminating internal "waste" in the processes.

The term "just in time" is one of the pillars of the Toyota Production System. It brings together traditional methods of organization together with new original techniques (Kanban, cell production, leveling, quick readjustment and many. Ph.D). Through them, Just in Time achieves high labor productivity, small volume of work in progress, short cycle from order to finished product. (More on just-in-time manufacturing - here)

Through training:

  • We will get to know the 5 principles in lean thinking,
  • We will learn to recognize the 7 types of "waste" in production,
  • We will get acquainted in an understandable way with the basic techniques of just-in-time production,After_Project_JIT_1
  • Through hands-on simulation, we will apply the principles in a production system and analyze their effects,
  • We will understand the benefits of good organization of material flows,
  • We will see practical examples of "just in time" implementation in Bulgarian enterprises,
  • We will learn how to build a Kanban system to "pull" materials into the process,
  • We will understand the labor productivity effects of cellular manufacturing and how it is built.

Audience:
Owners and directors of industrial enterprises, production managers at the various levels (managers, n-k shift, team leaders), production engineers, technologists, as well as to all specialists in the field of production efficiency and material flow management.

Learning aids used:
Presentation, game - simulation, examples from the Bulgarian industry, video clips, discussions with participants.

Themes:

  • Principles in Lean methodology
  • 7 -te obi sebori Lean
  • The game "Why climb, when we can fly?“
  • Value Added Stream Map – VSM (Value Stream Mapping).
  • Analysis of "redundancies" and current VSM. Future VSM.
  • Cycle and cycle time in the Lean methodology.
  • Production flow and cell production.
  • Single-item flow versus batch movement of work-in-progress.
  • Standardized operations.
  • Pulling vs. Pushing Systems. Kanban.
  • Production leveling.
